Penn State Behrend honored several student-athletes with its annual awards picnic.
Award winners included junior swimmer/water polo athlete Alex Isaacson; senior water polo player Matt Johnson; senior soccer players Shelby Lloyd, Maddie Monte and Jimmy Belack; senior swimmer Dan Simon; junior basketball player Mike Knoll; and senior cheerleader Megan McKinney.
Mike Knoll
Lloyd was named Female Athlete of the Year, while Belack and Simon shared the Male Athlete of the Year Award. Isaacson won the Richard Dill Outstanding Service Award. Johnson earned the Herb Lauffer Leadership/Scholarship Award.
Monte and Knoll were given the John Zahniser Scholar Athlete Award, while Knoll also claimed the Faculty Athletic Council Service Award. The Behrend Spirit Award went to McKinney.
Knoll, a junior forward and Cathedral Prep graduate, averaged 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last season for the Lions, who went 23-4.
