Chris Cvecko
Case Western Reserve junior midfielder Chris Cvecko, a McDowell graduate, was named to the all-University Athletic Association men’s soccer first team for the second year in a row.
Cvecko led the Spartans and was third in the UAA with 18 points on seven goals (three game-winners) and four assists. In 53 career matches, he has collected 45 points (16 goals and 13 assists) and six game-winning goals. Cvecko, an engineering major, also is a two-time UAA All-Academic honoree and was named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Academic all-Ohio first team and all-Ohio third team last fall.
Case Western went 8-6-4 this season and appeared in the regional rankings for the first time since 2011.
Cvecko was a team captain and Region 6 first-team all-star as a senior at McDowell.
