Case Western senior captain Chris Cvecko, a McDowell graduate, recorded three goals in two games last week and was named the University Athletic Association men’s soccer offensive athlete of the week.

In a 2-0 victory over John Carroll on Sept. 16, Cvecko, a midfielder, scored both goals for the Spartans. The two-goal game was the second multiple goal game of Cvecko’s career.

In the second 2-0 win of the week, against Ohio Northern on Saturday, Cvecko added an assist on a goal.

Cvecko, who had a goal and assist Wednesday in a 2-0 win at Wooster, is tied for the team lead with five goals and two assists, and he leads all CWRU players with 12 points in 2015.

In his career, Cvecko has 21 goals (seven game-winners), 15 assists, 57 points and 111 shots in 61 games played.

Cvecko, a two-time all-UAA first-team all-star at Case Western, was a District 10 and region all-star at McDowell.
